Preliminary task and reflection

This preliminary task has helped my understand what i need to do in order to produce a basic print for the detailed magazine i need to produce ( A music magazine though of course). i have learned the basic skills for photoshop and i am quite pleased with the product i have created. i feel that with a little more training on photoshop i will be able to make the product a very lively and eye-catching magazine and therefore making it more of a successful read.

I am quite pleased with the front cover, however i feel that with more text and pictures it could have been much more realistic and interesting. i adopted quite a casual text style because of my audience being of the same age. i feel that it bring a feel of informality and allows the reader to pick up the magazine without it looking to structured and regimented. i decided to go for the color green for the background as it often symbolises money, money of course gives the impression of these students obtaining high paying jobs and a good future. Green suggests stability and endurance and is a color that catches the human eye very easily therefore, i thought this would be a good color to choose. However, green isn't the only color, red was used in order to contrast the green allowing it to become even more eye-catching. Red symbolises strength and determination therefore i thought it would be quite good to catch the students attention.  The yellow is used for warmth and symbolises happiness therefore i thought the title being in yellow wold give the students a hint of happiness.  The contents page adapts the same principles however, this time the yellow is used to bring attention to the principles or editors note. the rest of the text is in black in order to raise attention to any other high notices.

i have really enjoyed this task and it has given me the correct attitude needed to make a high selling product. It has given me the ideas  in order to create a successful magazine with a very good range of shots. i will now be thinking about the proper layout of my magazine design.
